Other court proceedings
To enable an estate to bring or defend proceedings or to continue proceedings instigated by or against the deceased, the Official Solicitor may, in certain circumstances, extract either a limited grant (see paragraph 25.163 of Tristram and Coote's Probate Practice, 28th Edition) or, in some circumstances a full grant to ensure that the claimant is able to continue the proceedings to a conclusion, or a defendant to defend them. See also the information under civil proceedings.
